"Armageddon" is the second single and second track by aespa first full-length album of the same name. It was released on May 27, 2024.
Background and release[]
On April 22, 2024, SM Entertainment announced that Aespa would release their first studio album, Armageddon. It was also reported that the album will include two title tracks: "Supernova" and "Armageddon," with the former coming out on May 13 and the latter, along with the album, on May 27.[1]
On May 10, the track list was unveiled, along with a highlight medley teaser video.[2]
On May 26, a music video teaser was published.[3]
On May 27, the song "Armageddon" was released alongside the album and music video.[4]
Composition[]
"Armageddon" was written by Bang Hye-hyun, composed and arranged by No Identity, and featured Ejae, Sumin, and Waker from 153/Joombas. Described as a "old-school and trendy" hip hop dance tune with a "strong synth bass rhythm" with lyrics that state, "Only I can define myself". "Armageddon" was written in the key of A major, with a pace of 92 beats per minute.
