Black Mamba is a villain in aespa's lore. She is featured in the group's debut single, Black Mamba. Her character is based off the venomous snake by the same name. In aespa's music video 'Black Mamba', she is first seen and is represented by a black mamba. She is also the song’s main focus.

History[]

Black Mamba was created in KWANGYA by the "insatiable desires" of humans. By imitating the negative behavior of humans, she gained tremendous power. Believing that mankind saw ae as nothing but products that could be easily deleted, and that they are better off without them, she caused the SYNK OUT.[1] When the aespa girls came to KWANGYA, she toyed with them by using her powers to create hallucinations of what they feared the most (such as high expectations and rumors for Karina, hate comments for Ningning, etc). Using this tactic, she nearly manipulates Karina into destroying her ae form, which is represented in the music video for Black Mamba as she caresses Karina’s cheek ominously. However, Karina breaks free of her control.

The other girls free themselves of the hallucinations and fight Black Mamba, during which she showcases regenerative and shapeshifting powers and causes a power outage throughout the world in her rage. The girls end up winning the battle with the help of Nævis, leaving Black Mamba with a cut on her cheek that she cannot regenerate and destroying the jewel on her hand that seems to power her. Her fate is ambiguous, as after that she is seen as a statue giving her powers to BoA.
